Filmed over nearly three years, WASTE LAND follows renowned artist Vik Muniz as he journeys from his home base in Brooklyn to his native Brazil and the world’s largest garbage dump, Jardim Gramacho, located on the outskirts of Rio de Janeiro. There he photographs an eclectic band of “catadores”—self-designated pickers of recyclable materials. Muniz’s initial objective was to “paint” the catadores with garbage. However, his collaboration with these inspiring characters as they recreate photographic images of themselves out of garbage reveals both the dignity and despair of the catadores as they begin to re-imagine their lives. Director Lucy Walker (DEVIL’S PLAYGROUND, BLINDSIGHT, COUNTDOWN TO ZERO) has great access to the entire process and, in the end, offers stirring evidence of the transformative power of art and the alchemy of the human spirit.
Watched this again last night after I recommended to a friend at Ted x. Saw it originally when it came out in the cinema in 2010. He is on of my favourite artist and enjoy to see how he challenges how we see art.
Trying something different where mode is more important then detail. Trying to be loose with my use of line.
This year I plan to work with various materials and ideas. From painting to design and sculpture. I want to push what I am able to create. I have so many ideas that I’m not going to limit my self

Heres the shoe I created for TOMS one of the first projects I took on as part of my DPS year. My original design was sold as a limited artist shoe part of the CSM freshers competition. I hand painted each shoe and its and experience I will never forget.

You never know what you’ll find on the streets. And if you happen to be a photographer working in New York, that’s doubly true. I’ve had the good fortune to shoot all over the world, and when I come back to New York, I’m always reminded of why I started my career here.
The New York street scene is, for better or for worse, the street scene. It’s the one that is the most iconoclastic, and because of the backdrop of New York, it’s the one that I think people from just about anywhere imagine when they think of the idea of a street scene—whatever a “street scene” happens to be.
I created this album to showcase some of my favorite street scenes that I’ve captured in New York. This is nothing that I’ve done on contract or in my studio, just real life moments captured by me with my Mark III when I had some time to kick it around the city. I hope you like what you see. I did.
Back for my last year at Central St. Martins. Spending the year on Professional studies has taught me so much and given me the reality check I needed to continue my pursuits as a artist (whatever that may be). Working with various companies and collectives has given me the inside view into the hard work and dedication it takes to succeed in this field and or any other for that matter. I have decided that I will keep this blog updated with sketches and ideas a way for me to share what Im doing and how Im developing.
This was a very important tool for me on this DPS year and now I realise the importance of social media. Please bare with me as this will be a place I upload ideas, sketches and other random things.
My influences vary from other artist, music, food, culture, books, fashion, science, museums, magazines, people I meet and much more.
