Got to spend some time in the Ukraine with Chris and Jessica who always inspire me to be more creative and challenge my ideas. Here are some pictures of us at the PinchuArtCentre and So You Think you Can Dance Ukraine Studios. Chris and Jessica are amazingly talented dancers and choreographers. Its always so nice to see them create and how much people love what they do.
The Mazahua dolls are made by the indigenous communities of Mexico and have a rich history. Was this really necessary. I understand what they are trying to do but the dolls are already so beautiful in there own right. More and more of these companies are taking from Indigenous communities but not sure if they are doing it the right way.
I know that this is a piece that many people wont understand or even question why I’m painting it. Ive been asked if Im angry or depressed. Honestly Im just reflecting. I’ve been spending lots of time reading about the situation in El Salvador and the history. A story that not many know or even care about. Why would they? The scary part is that this is still happening around the world. This abuse of power and need to dominate. Yes the situation is complex yet simple at the sametime if you look at what they are fighting for. Who is the dominator and who is the dominated and why. if you look into history I think you will find a very distenct pattern.
My totur is having me look at varoious artist and reflect on my compestitution and delivery. I will definetly do that but for now I will finsh this work. Oil Painting on canvas 8 feet x 6 feet. I definetly don’t normaly paint like this or feel the need to but Im sorting out various ideas and feelings. It does trouble me a bit how I can paint something like this yet still feel the need to.
Its now back in the Studio focusing on new work and experimentation. Have purchased and found all the materials I need for these new ideas now its just spending the time and getting them done.

My Birthday month celebrations have started. Was surprised with tickets to The Royal Albert Hall to see an exclusive World Premiere of Danny Elfman's music from the films of Tim Burton.
Conductor John Mauler collaborated with composer Danny Elfman and Tim Burton to create a unique filmic experience, blending music and visuals to celebrate there long standing partnership.
We had amazing seats and the highlight was watching Danny Elfman perform as Jack Skellington and Oogie Boogie from Nightmare Before Christmas. Having Tim Burton and Helena Bonham Carter Perform as Sally was unforgettable.
Tim Burtons loose illustrations and distorted creatures have always been an inspiration.
